the problem with Android is it does very little to brand Google because NO TWO ANDROID PHONES look or operate the same even from the same manufacturer! Whether you blame Google's 20-year learning curve on UI or the telcos skinning the OS, Android will never be considered a iOS tier OS because to the user, they have to RELEARN with every device they buy - DEFEATING the purpose of choosing a smartphone OS. Until Google fixes this MOST FUNDAMENTAL PROBLEM, it's 21 century Symbian - something but to the consumer, it might as well be called hamburger because it's a meat patty with bread but different everytime. Unlike Apple, a company that understands. They might add some features to the iOS but if use ONE you can use an Ipod Touch and an iPad

From what I've read, the android license doesn't give Google any power to do this. They can't force the manufacturers/carriers to do anything and the manufacturers/carriers have their own needs/agendas that may not even include Google or its search. So, Symbian is a good example
